Introduction about Nora Willson

Hi everyone, my name is Nora Willson - founder of Memories, a custom apparel studio built around a simple idea: the clothes we wear can hold the moments we never want to forget. With a background in textile design and years spent working directly with print machines, films, and fabrics, I've come to appreciate how a single well-made garment can carry real emotional weight. To me, a custom shirt isn't just a product. It's a memory you can put on.

I started Memories because I wanted to combine two things I care about deeply: craftsmanship and meaning. Every piece we make is designed to feel personal, last through hundreds of washes, and remind the wearer of something that matters.

Career journey, Expertise & Creative approach

Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Textile and Surface Design, graduated with honors.

Professional timeline: Over the past nine years, I've worked across the full custom apparel pipeline from design and pre-press to production and quality control.

My journey began on the production floor of a small print shop, where I learned the craft the hard way: registering screens by hand, mixing inks, and figuring out why a print would crack after a few washes. That hands-on start gave me a respect for the technical side of garment decoration that still shapes how I work today.

As DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing matured, I saw an opportunity. It allowed for full-color, photographic-quality designs on almost any fabric, with soft hand-feel and excellent durability — without the high minimum orders that screen printing demands. I spent years refining DTF workflows: dialing in cure temperatures, perfecting powder adhesion, and testing transfers across cotton, blends, and washed fabrics. Founding Memories was the natural next step — a studio where premium materials, true personalization, and reliable quality come together for customers around the world.

Expertise & Creative approach

I specialize in producing made-to-order custom apparel that balances clean visual design with technical durability. My approach focuses on:

  • Mastery of DTF printing — color accuracy, soft hand-feel, and wash-resistant transfers that hold up over time
  • Fabric-first thinking — choosing and preparing the right garment (washed tees, heavyweight hoodies, fleece sweatshirts) so the print and the fabric work together
  • Personalization at scale — building a workflow that makes one-off custom designs as reliable as a full production run
  • Storytelling through design — treating every order as a memory worth preserving, not just a graphic on a shirt

Whether I'm working on a single personalized gift or an exclusive collection, I prioritize accuracy, durability, and emotional resonance in every detail.

Notable Projects & Achievements

Throughout my career, I've:

  • Produced and shipped thousands of custom DTF-printed garments for customers across the US, UK, EU, and Australia
  • Developed a signature washed-tee finish that pairs vintage softness with vibrant, long-lasting prints
  • Built a made-to-order system that keeps fast turnaround and consistent quality even on fully custom designs
  • Established Memories' 30-day 1-for-1 exchange standard, setting a high bar for confidence and customer trust in custom apparel

These projects reflect my belief that custom printing should be both deeply personal and dependably high-quality.

Values & Creative Philosophy

At the heart of my work is the belief that custom apparel is a way to keep memories close. I value:

  • Authenticity — every design should mean something to the person wearing it
  • Craftsmanship — quality materials and precise printing are non-negotiable
  • Individuality — personalization should help people tell their own story
  • Reliability — fast shipping, fair pricing, and a real guarantee behind every order

These principles guide every piece we create at Memories.
